The Kood thin frame digital circular polarising filters are made from high quality glass and will remove reflections from non-metallic objects, and increase colour saturation, without affecting the overall colour balance.
This filter is double threaded so another filter, adaptor or hood can be mounted onto it.
These filters are suitable for film and digital cameras for use with Auto-focus.
A circular polariser is used to increase the colour saturation of landscape scenes in outdoor photography and can make skies look bluer and clouds whiter etc. They also reduce reflections from non metallic objects like glass and water. This filter is an important addition to any camera bag because the polarising effect can not be replicated using post production software!
Circular Polarising filter Vs Linear Polarising filter quick guide
If your camera has auto-focus then a circular polarising filter is required as a linear polarising filter will hamper the auto-focus function from working correctly. A circular polarising filter will work across all types of camera so are also more versatile than the linear polariser.
One other consideration to make is that polarising filters do not work so well on wide angle lenses. They do work but the polarising effect will change across the frame and for some images may be a problem but this is just down to personal preference.
Specification:
Features: Double Threaded
Size: 55 mm
If you are unsure of the size you require, most lens caps will have the filter thread size stamped on the back of them. The lens will also have an indication somewhere, usually denoted by a diameter symbol ø with a number after it which indicates the filter thread size.
